Hello my Darklings, I’m sure that you must agree that a movie starring both Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing is bound to be a hell of a good ride.
Professor Alexander Saxton (Christopher Lee) has made a discovery in the frozen depths of Manchuria that is sure to turn the scientific world on it’s head. He believes he has found the missing link between man and ape and is in a hurry to get it safely back to England and away from the hands of would be thieves. He is also determined to keep it away from the prying eyes of Dr. Wells (Peter Cushing), a curious rival who is far too curious for his own good.
Their train ride back to Europe takes a tragic turn as one passenger after another is found dead. Who is the mystery killer and could it have something to do with Professor Saxton’s amazing ‘missing link’?
Well my Darklings, to find out you must climb aboard the

It is now officially Christmas here on It Came From the Public Domain! and that means it’s now time for our second special Christmas feature.
Christmas isn’t Christmas without sitting in front of a warm fireplace (or huddled in front of a flickering computer monitor) and watching one of the many renditions of Charles Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’ . In fact it has come to our attention here at It Came From the Public Domain! that there is even a new version that was released this year.
So to celebrate Christmas and the release of another version of the holiday classic, my Darklings I give you the very first sound version of Charles Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’…

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring… except for your ever faithful projectionist, Cult Hero.
As a treat for all my Darklings tonight I bring you a special double feature to lighten up what is for many the most depressing night of the year.
To begin I bring you a very special holiday treat that is sure to warm even the bleakest of hearts, Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.
There is no Christmas on Mars and the Martians have no one to bring presents to their children so what is a doting Martian parent to do? Why, travel to Earth and kidnap Santa Claus of course! But if Santa Claus is stolen away to Mars what will that mean to Christmas here on Earth?
Well my Darkings, you are about to find out as I now bring you Part One of our special Christmas Double Feature…

Ever wonder just what that feeling creeping down your spine when you’re afraid really was? Ever thought it was an entity all on it’s own that grew inside your body whenever you were frightened and the only way to destroy it was to scream your lungs out? Ever wonder just what would happen if the person frightened into creating such a creature WAS UNABLE TO SCREAM?
Don’t forget to scream my Darklings for it’s time for

Freaks is the tale of the lives of circus Freaks. It is the tale of love and betrayal and of just what happens when you cross a band of Freaks after they have accepted you as one of their own. Hans, a little person (or midget for the non politically correct) falls in love with a beautiful trapeze artist not realizing the only thing she loves about him is his money.
A tale so gruesome it was banned in many countries including the UK, Freaks is certainly not your every day movie fare.

This film is a shorty but a goodie. Perhaps the oldest surviving horror movie, Thomas Edison’s Frankenstein is an early adaption of the book by Mary Shelley. Considered primitive by today’s standards this piece of cinematic history shall be celebrating it’s 100th birthday next year.
Thomas Edison, we salute you (even if you did electrocute elephants, for that you are a bad bad man).
